It all started with just a thought. My mom took a life-savings class there one week end and when she got back she mentioned the school to me and said that she would like to maybe look into it for me sometime. A couple years past with McDaniel always in the back of my mind. When people would ask what i wanted to do i would always say that we would maybe look at McDaniel, never really thinking it would happen. But then Junior year came around and McDaniel was still in our minds so we decided to take a look. First visit, Junior/Parents Visit day. This was about a year ago. It went well and i loved it there! The campus was perfect size for me, everyone was extremely nice and helpful, the swim coach seemed great! Another visit day came about later in November. Me and my mom went up. We were able to talk with the coach a little more and we set up a time, the week end after, for me to do a recruit trip!
The overnight was a lot of fun! Everyone on the swim team was great and i felt very comfortable there. I was able to watch a swim practice, go to a team dinner, and then the next day a team breakfast and then i watched one of their swim meets. While i was there, there was another recruit, her name was Emma and we clicked right when we met each other. We have been keeping touch and giving each other our latest McDaniel news on whether we would go there or not.
oh what the heck, why not get another T-shirt :)So came the applying time!! we were able to get into the Early Decision time slot so we would know pretty quickly whether or not i would be accepted. And two weeks later we got a letter in the mail.....
AHHHHHHH!!!!!! i had been accepted!! this was a little bit of a surprise. I had a feeling that i would get in...but there was always that shadow of the good chance i might not get in. This was a huge opportunity to completely put my trust in the Lords provision.
Now that i had been accepted, the big question was....how are we going to pay the 40,000! Me and my parents that we would split the remaining costs. I believe this was the area that i mostly struggled with my faith in Gods provision. I was often very worried and anxious. I would often pray asking for him to give me even more faith in him and trust that he will open the doors for me to go to McDaniel. A couple months later, we were told the amount that i would receive....and it was more than half of the tuition! All through out this proses the Lord has shown his faithfulness to me. It has only helped me grow in my trust in his provision.
So i sealed the deal with a sweat shirt :) And the girl Emma, who i had met a while back, is also going!! We are really excited to be at the same school and apart of the Green Terror Swim Team!!

NIIICEEE...
